Our Goal

One of the most striking features of the SXSW Interactive Festival is the talent and intelligence of the people who attend -- tens of thousands incredibly bright and skilled people, with a common interest in learning about the cutting edge of What’s Possible.

The question arises as to what all these people could do if they set their minds to it.  

So for starters: how about fighting Malaria?

For 2012-13, we seek to collect a group of developers, game designers, graphic artists, data miners and data visualisers -- to build a series of computer games that will help predict the spread of Malaria.

We'll provide the data and the tools.  The community will take these and make from them -- we hope -- a range of games that allow players to apply their smarts to to find patterns, see relationships, and do other things that computers aren't good at...
